Data Analysis

Ultrasound files, for the most part, can be easily and accurately interpreted and operators can quickly learn how to identify the majority of common faults. However, in certain cases, more complex systems and structures can be difficult to both monitor and interpret; especially for operators who do not interpret the data regularly.

It is when confronted with an anomalous reading that misdiagnosis can occur. Regular examples include:
-
Structural resonance artifacts
-
Peak jumps in Strain/Stress Readings
-
Mechanical looseness in electrical enclosures
-
Partially cracked fasteners in Strain/Stress Readings
-
Electrical leakage to bearings
-
Plasticised fasteners when direct-tensioning
Utra-Tek's ISO Level II and III Technicians stand ready to assist in monitoring and interpreting the most complex systems, structures and data.

We also provide post-failure analysis and a remedial action advisory to avoid repeat failures and costly emergency shutdowns.
